Some Nigerians who own an NIN are still unsure how to combine their phone numbers with the NIN.
It may be recalled that on Monday the federal government instructed telecommunications companies to ban phone calls unrelated to the National Identification Number (NIN).
Here are a few steps to connect your phone number to your NIN:
To pair your NIN with your MTN number, dial * 785 # using the MTN phone number you want to set, enter your NIN and submit or;
Dial * 785 # NIN # from the MTN phone number you want to connect to. The code will be linked to the NIN automatically.
Fill out the NIN linking form by entering your name, MTN phone number, NIN, and email address.
To connect your NIN to your Airtel phone number, follow these steps:
Dial * 121 # on the Airtel line you want to join.
Type 1 for "NIN Capture" and send.
Enter your NIN number 11 and send.
Wait for the message confirming the submission. If you find an error, just wait a while and try again.
How to connect your NIN with your Glo and 9mobile phone numbers
For other networks, simply visit the office of your nearest service provider (Glo or 9mobile) to register / connect your NIN.
Go with your NIN and SIM pack or call your customer service provider.
9mobile says it is trying to come up with a plan that will make it easier for its customers. You can check your NIN status by dialing * 346 # from the 9mobile line.
